Is Dubai Safe for Children?
Dubai is one of the safest cities in the world and places great importance on family tourism. All major malls have baby-care rooms, most restaurants offer a children's menu, and theme parks have age-appropriate zones. You can request a child seat in the metro and taxis. Hospitals and pharmacies are open 24/7.
The Best Theme Parks
IMG Worlds of Adventure is the world's largest indoor theme park — its Marvel and Cartoon Network zones thrill children, and it is fully air-conditioned. With a Legoland + Motiongate combo ticket you can spend a full day at Dubai Parks. In Abu Dhabi, Ferrari World (Formula Rossa — 240 km/h), Warner Bros World (DC superheroes) and SeaWorld are spectacular newly opened parks. Visiting 3 parks over 2 days on Yas Island is ideal.
Theme parks are usually open 10 AM-6 PM. The first 2 hours are the quietest — head to the big rides first.
Water Parks
Aquaventure (Atlantis, Palm Jumeirah) is the world's largest water park and includes the Lost Chambers Aquarium. Wild Wadi (opposite Burj Al Arab) is cosier and less crowded. Yas Waterworld (Abu Dhabi) is a huge site with 45 rides. Even in winter the water stays above 25°C.
Free and Budget-Friendly Activities
The Dubai Fountain show (in front of Dubai Mall, every 30 minutes after 6 PM each evening) is completely free. JBR public beach, a 1 AED abra (traditional boat) crossing on Dubai Creek, a walk through the historic Al Seef district and Miracle Garden (in season) are wonderful for children. The aquarium inside Dubai Mall can also be viewed from outside.
Children aged 0-2 are free at most activities. A child price applies for ages 3-11.
Practical Tips
Strollers can be used everywhere — malls and parks are accessible. Always keep SPF50+ sunscreen, a hat and a water bottle with you. We provide a free baby seat for children during the airport transfer. When choosing a hotel, prefer ones with a children's pool. During Ramadan the daytime eating/drinking restriction does not apply inside hotels.
